A big thank you to John Robinson of altMBA5 for being the instigator of this post.  John shared that one of the key things for him when reflecting on his altMBA experience was the fact that he has become better at designing powerful introspective and prospective questions.  Questions that help instigate change in your project, yourself and maybe in others - propeller questions if you like.  The altMBA community is challenging, vibrant and very engaged, so when John shared one of his most pertinent questions and asked for more, he soon had a list of well over 30.

I've made an edit and distilled these down into 37 that I think will work for a wider audience.  Apply as you see fit - you may want to use them to set some structured goals for yourself.  Feel free to let me know what you think.

  1. What do you want the outcome to be when considering the change you are currently seeking?
  2. Consider your current story is it REALLY true?” and “why?”
  3. What is it for? (Your project, business, new initiative)
  4. Ask “why” five levels deep or until “fear of death” is the answer
  5. Who do you want your customers to become?
  6. What are you hiding from?  WHO are you hiding from?
  7. Who have you surrounded yourself with that will give you generous feedback?
  8. What would this look like if it were easy?
  9. Does the definition of challenging change when you write down what it means to you?
  10. My audience may have seen something like this before.  Will they “file” it where I want them to file it?
  11. “What is it in your life that you’ve been most generous in? Find out how you can do more of that.” -Seth Godin on the CreativeLive interview when asked about finding your direction.

  17. Who is worth stealing from today?
  18. Why stop here, how big can you dream?
  19. How do you know it’s working?
  20. What change do you want to bring? Who do you want to change / transform? How do you want them to change?
  21. Who needs to love this?
  22. Is this designed to stop you from moving forward?
  23. What if you had to do it 10x better?  10x bigger?
  24. Who needs your help?
  25. What scares me about this?
  26. How can I be more generous today?
  27. What is the single most important task that I can accomplish today? “My lead domino”
  28. What is the most useful tool out there, that I know nothing about?
