Sometimes just hanging around in a creative environment can provide great little sparks. Last week I visited the new headquarters of Creative Edinburgh and was kindly introduced to Edinburgh based Illustrator David Mahoney. His work blew me away. David is merging the old and the new to create something special. He uses a traditional approach to illustration and then uses a range of digital tools to animate… the results are atmospheric animations with real depth. David has already worked with loads of big names and has gained a lot of respect from his peers. I’m excited to see where he goes next. From my own perspective he got me thinking about how my industry could harness his talent to help us tell stories in a more engaging way… watch this space on that. In the meantime, check out his fantastic work.
